Constant wifi dropouts

Since updating to ios6 on an iPhone 4 I am having constant wi-fi dropouts. Definitely the phone - all other devices carry on quite happly. Stopping and starting wifi flushes the problem, but it is happening several times a day and is quite tiresome.

Any idea for a permanent fix?
