Sep 25, 2012 12:55 PM in response to alicia226by JohnnyPu,★HelpfulI had the same issue with all my apple mobile devices. I had tried all the solutions from applecare but none of them works for me. Finally, I called Bright House(my ISP). And, they came and replaced the Mode and wifi router. Then, everything just goes fine. For my situation, I would say the problem should be the old WiFi router! But, I still have an question. Why does iOS5 work just fine with the old router, not the iOS6? Anyway, I got everything working right now with the new router.

Sep 25, 2012 1:02 PM in response to alicia226by alicia226,I went to the AppleStore in Madrid, and they told me "the wifi icon changes is normal, but the notifications should be displayed, although the screen is locked". So I changed it for a new one, because I bought it last week.
I should test in iOs6 again...

Sep 25, 2012 10:22 PM in response to debora5676by zainman88,exact same problem with me Debora5676
updated my iPhone 4S 16GB to iOS 6 the day it came out (19th of September) and i've noticed this change ever since.
I also live in an area where there is no cellular reception and therefore when i get home, i turn my phone to Airplane mode to save battery but leave the wifi on as i can get push notifications like iMessage, facetime and whatsapp.
Now though, after upgrading to iOS 6. When my phone is locked, it disconnects the WiFi and when i manually unlock it, takes a couple of seconds before the WiFi icon re-appears and i get all my notifications/messages etc.
Extremely annoying.
I can confirm that if you leave the phone plugged in to a power source, the WiFi will not turn off.
I am yet to try the Auto-proxy setting, but if anyone has any solutions, it would be greatly appreciated!

Sep 25, 2012 11:42 PM in response to zainman88by debora5676,It's a good idea. I don't think that is normal that wifi don't work in standby, because with 5.1.1 it worked. And is absurd that I can't receve notifications of iMessage and whats'app when iPhone is in screen lock. And I saw that, when I turn on the screen, often it don't find my home wifi network, so it consume much battery, maybe it search network constantly. I hope really to resolve

Sep 27, 2012 7:42 AM in response to alicia226by rdevulapalli,I have exact same problem with my 4S 5.1.1. Wifi turns off some time after phone goes to sleep mode. When I click on Home/LockButton(without even slide to unlock) it itakes couple of seconds to reconnect to my Wifi. It looks like some wifi connection timeout((definately more than a min), because it doesn't turn off immediately after I put the phone is sleep mode. Once connected it stays Wifi connected for a while. If I keep getting notifications frequenly, my wifi keeps connected. Is there a setting somewhere on iPhone how long the wifi keep connected when phone goes sleep ?? Is it a setting on Wifi Router ? Didn't get a right answer yet !!

Sep 27, 2012 12:17 PM in response to debora5676by alicia226,Yes, the icon changes. Some friends of mine have told me that they also saw it in ios 5.1.1 , but the iPhone works fine.
I'm not sure that I receive all the notifications, because when I've also connected 3G, the 3G data counter increases............
I think I'm going crazy haha
It's true that I've received notifications on Wifi at the same time that the screen is locked, but I don't know if all it should.
I'll test the phone more days.
How about your new phone?
