after downloading IOS 6, I can't send or receive email

I just recently downloaded and installed IOS 6 on my Iphone 4s. Now, I can't send or receive emails. I have reset the phone, re configured the email address, and even synced with my itunes on my computer. When I compose a message, and hit send, it makes the noise of an email being sent, but it never shows up. When trying to get mail, It just keeps "checking." I've tried this through 4g and also my home's wireless connection. Is there anyway to roll back the update ?
