Accessory for connecting IPod touch to TV

I purchased a Dynex brand docking port specifically designed to connect the IPod to a TV for video viewing. The device has both a SVideo port and the port with 3 connectors (one for video, two for audio). The audio comes through (with difficulty) but I have not been successful in getting the video to show on the screen. I tried connecting it to two TV's and my PC computer. None were succesfull. What is the correct brand accessory for connecting the TV to the IPod Touch for video playback.

Does itr connect to the iPod's 30 pin dock connector?

Are you using the Video app? The TV out only works wioth apps that support TV out.

While it was purchased when I had my older I Pod it does connect to the IPod Touch. I am attempting to use the TV as a monitor trying to project movies purchased on I Tunes and housed on my IP Touch onto the larger screen. Does this require a downloaded app to do this? I thought you just docked the IPod in the Dynex deivice and connected the cables between the device and the TV. Does it require something more?

If the manufacturer does not say it is compatible with an iPod touch it may not b compatible.

Also, if yo have a 4G iPod it may not fully seat with the dock since the configuration of the case by the dock connector is different that other iPods. Some does not specifically made for the 4G iPod do not allow the iPod to fully seat.

I have an older Touch. Mine is the 3rd generation 8GB. It seems to seat okay. I get the little "chirp tone" when I put it in the device. Have any idea why the video might not be going through?

Could be that the dock only work with iPod other than the iPod touch., The iPod touch uses a different operating system that then other iPods.

Thanks. That is probably the problem. The docking station is too old and unfortunately not longer supported on their website with software upgrades.

I have this Apple cable that works just fine on most all the iPod Touches, iPads, iPhones.

If you need a dock, Apple also sells a dock. You will still need the cable above.

Yes, I found this as well on the online Apple store. I'm going to purchase it. I'm downloading movie now to my old IPod and will try the Dynex docking station with that. That should tell me where the problem is. Thanks for your help.
