Q: Flicker on mac mini?

Sometimes not always I get a small flicker. Im using the computer for basc tasks web,emailing, and games now a then. After a while at rambom times the screen goes black for about 1-2sec and then returns back to its normal self but the thing is how to I get rid of this flicker its not a huge thing since it doesnt happen all the time but I would like to fix this minnor issue. Much help would be appreciated.

Mac mini 10.7.4 i5 (2011 latest model)

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Be sure to install the latest update for your Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. If you have flickering issues using your Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter with certain displays, learn how to update to an adapter with Firmware version 1.03.

Thanks for replying to quickly BDAqua

That would be helpful but I curently running video threw and HDMI to HDMI cable. The display is connected from the mac mini to a PS3 3D display.

P.S. The macs software is up to date

Not much you can do, but a small possibilty...

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

Thanks for the help BDAqua your help was appreciated.

I figured out a quick fix for this problem if anyone is in the same position that I was a SMC reset should do the the trick.

Works like new
