Q: I wanted to add a song to my ipod shuffle, I plugged it into the computer and computer did not recognize it.  Is it possible that my shuffle is too old?

I wanted to add a song to my ipod shuffle.  I plugged it into my computer and the computer did not recognize it.  Is it possible that my shuffle is obsolete?  What can I do to try and add the song I wanted to.

No. The latest version of iTunes should support all models of iPods regardless of age.  Are you plugging the Shuffle into a high powered USB 2.0 port on your PC/Mac versus a hub? Have you tried resetting the Shuffle with it still connected via USB? Use this article for instructions on resetting the Shuffle.

Also make sure the connections on each end are nice and snug. Are you using the same cable that was originally included with the Shuffle?
