Siri in Canada - defaults to Toronto

I'm in Vancouver, Canada and was excited to see Siri getting official support for Canada.

However, no matter what I try on both my iPad 3rd Gen and iPhone 5, Siri thinks I'm in Toronto. Asking for the weather, restaurants, etc. all come back with info for Toronto. This is happening on WiFi and LTE/3G (my carrier is Fido). Acquiring a GPS lock also makes no difference.

Strangely, all other apps find me fine and think I'm in Vancouver.

A quick Google search reveals that this seems to happen to other people as well.

Can't believe that this wasn't discovered during testing!

Anyone got any solutions?

I have the same problem - I live in Victoria, but I only get results for Toronto.

If I ask "What will the weather be like tomorrow?" - I get Toronto weather. If I ask instead "What will the weather be like tomorrow near me?" - I get local weather.

Same for restaurant searches. Just ask for restaurants - I get Toronto. If I add "near me" - I get local.

Still a bug if you ask me - I shouldn't have to add "near me" just to get local results.

I had the same problem. Although today it started working. Weird thing is that it gives me the right weather but now doesn't mention the location

I just tried again but now it seems to be working. I guess Apple must be aware of it and trying to fix it.

I'm also experiancing this problem. I live in Edmonton, but whenever I ask Siri about restaurants near me, it gives me information for Toronto.

I have location services for Siri turned on and my contact info lists my address in Edmonton. If I ask Siri about the weather or directions on maps, it all works correctly. It is only when I ask about restaurants or businesses near me that it gives Toronto.
