Set your email using other to set up email account. Follow these steps.

it will never fail as I set up emails everyday all day long. Also since ios 6 yahoo server set up appears to not work correctly.
Could you first tell us what you tried and what trouble you are having?
When I add an account, I choose yahoo, enter my information and it tells me that this email account may not be able to send or recieve emails.
So when you put in your email address and password and go through the setup does it work when you are done?
Under add Account try OTHER and not Yahoo. Enter your info and see if it works then.
This worked for the sbcglobal.net accounts on iphone 5. My att.net accounts and other email acoounts were setup from backup and worked. The sbcglobal accounts did not work. I deleted them and added them back using your steps. I think you are correct about the IOS 6 yahoo server set up not working correctly. These accounts were fine on my previous Iphone. Thanks for the post.
With all due respect, your solution is not working.
And ATT's page listing the server settings for email accounts on mobile devices says these are POP3, not IMAP, accounts (as if I know the difference between the two)
Help?
respectfully,
Patrick
I agree with pcp I tryed kidz solution on my iphone 5 & I still am not able to setup my account. Any other suggestions?
I have an (Yahoo) sbcglobal.net email account through AT&T. I can send and receive emails on my Mac (desktop)... but can only send emails on my iPhone and iPad.
The simplest solution is to delete the account, then add it back.
