i can receive email but cannot send any on my new iphone5. have followed suggestions. any ideas?

Yes there is.

You're first place to start is reading all the replies in this thread...

Seetings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select the account.

Select SMTP under Outgoing Server.

Make sure your (email) User Name and Password are entered.

Same issue here. It sends but it takes FOREVER. What is going on??

I had a similar issue using Comcast email on an iPhone 5. I figured out the problem was caused by different passwords in the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server. Click on passwords to change them. See images. Hope this helps.

I had the same thing happen to me. If it is the same problem I was having it is an easy fix.

From you phone go into settings

click on mail,contacts,calenders

select the account you which to fix (for me I had three)

directly under IMAP you will see your account again click on it

directly below your outgoing mail server SMTP click this

under other SMTP servers it will say off, click this and turn it on.

the problem should be fixed and can now send email.

Tried all of the above seemingly to no avail. But... for the benefit of future visitors to this thread: When all else fails, also try quitting and restarting Mail! Worked for me.

Just wanted to say thanks for your link to www.emaileverywhere.co.uk. I've been trying to fix my email problem on my iphone for ages, but despite all the forums I just couldn't get it working. I run a small business and I just cant afford for my emails not to work.

They were quick to tell me what the problem was and had it sorted within a day. Well worth the small amount of money I paid. Headache over.

Hi everyone

I've been having problems sending emails from my iPad for ages. Charlie, I had a look at the link you put on here and found http://www.emaileverywhere.co.uk/cannot_send_email_ipad_tablet.html which is especially for ipad (not iphone). I downlaoded a guide that showed me exacly what to do and it fixed my problems straight away.
