I keep trying to backup my iPhone using iCloud, but every time it stops at the "estimating time remaining" part and doesn't move past that...how do I complete the back up?

Backup not successful: I had the same problem.

My solution was to turn off some apps (Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap my device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options) and try a manual backup. If it didn't work, turn off a few more apps and try a backup. Keep doing that until the backup works. Then try adding in some of the last batch of apps that were previously turned off - the objective is to find the app that causes the backup to fail. For me, I suspect that the one app I found had a bad data file that, when included in the backup, caused the backup to quit.

This can be a long process if you have a lot of apps that you originally turned on for backups.

What worked for me was to:

1. Go to "Settings" then "iCloud"

2. Turn off everything that was turned on (mail, contacts, calendars, etc.) but leaving the data on my phone.

3. Go to Storage & Backup, turn off iCloud Backup

4. Go back to iCloud (back 1 page), turn everything that I wanted to back up, on.

5. Turn iCloud Backup on, then pushed Back Up Now (making sure phone was plugged in, wifi picking up with all bars, & locked phone).

When I checked my phone after about a minute, it was working.

This worked on my phone, but can't get it to work on hubby's, but I haven't had great wifi connection with his when I've tried. I'll try again this evening and update then.

No, this didn't help 😟 I turned off all apps -- and just tried backing up photo stream and it still wont work
