How do you setup scan to smb using a Kyocera FS-C8025MFP

Hi there,

Can anyone help me. We have a issue with a Kyocera FS-8025MFP which we cannot scan using SMB. Does anyone know a way around this or a FTP utility which may work??

Regards,

Alan.

The inability to scan using SMB first appeared in 10.7, after Apple implemented their own version of SMB.

On Lion there was a couple of ftp utilities available. One was called Lion FTPD Enable. You can get it from MacUpdate. I assume it will also work on 10.8 but I haven't tried it.

Personally I get users to enabled FTP via Terminal.

With the Terminal application open, type;

sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

Press Enter and when prompted, enter your admin account password and press Enter.

Now that FTP is running on the Mac you can configure the Kyocera to scan to the desired folder.
