Installed ios6 on my iphone 4s.  Lost most of my ical data on iPhone however the data still exists on my macbook computer.  Can't get iphone ical to sync with computer ical to recover data.  Any ideas?

I am having this same problem. I have tried to replace the iphone calendar with the computer calendar via itunes and I get message "Error occurred remapping record identifiers". Please help!

I am having the same annoying issue. Started happening after latest software update.

After waiting almost an hour, the following error message came up:

"iTunes could not sync calendars to iPhone because an error occurred remapping record identifiers."

Just tried initiating sync via phone's settings-general-iTunes wi-fi sync, it went a step further but it's frozen again.

Same here...***. I cannot sync Outlook to phone now---GD it Apple WTH

Add me to the list. I also upgraded my 4S to iOS 6, and now I can't sync my calendars, either.

Same error: 'iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "(my iphone's name)" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.'

Not sure if it has something to do with the final shutdown of the old MobileMe servers, which apparently happened around the same time.

I do not get an error message. iTunes looks like it is syncing but iCal remains unchanged. ARG!

I am having the same problem: can't sync my iphone calendar with my Ical (in my Mac).

I tried syncing with Itunes and it does not work. It will try to sync (for hours) and then it gives an error that it can not sync. The message indicates "Itunes could not sync calendars to the iphone name because an error occurred remapping record identifiers. Try syncing again. If the problem persists, replace the calendars on the iphone from the Info Tab in the Iphone preferences"..... I tried all this and have had no luck on getting then to sync. Please help, I depend heavily on my calendar syncs.

You can still recover them back because you mentioned that it still exists on your computer. You just have to sync it via iTunes. If that does not work, try retrieving the calendar from your iTunes backup if you have a recent one. iPhone Backup Extractor can extract calendar entries from the backup and it should be pretty easy to import the file back to your device. Along with calendar entries, here are the other common files in an iTunes backup.

I finally solved the problem I was having, although it did not involve a simple solution. Apparently there was/were corrupt files related to the syncronization and restore backup. I ended up having to restore the iphone as a "New iPhone" (It did not work by restoring from the backup). Once settings in the new iphone were set (after restoration as a new iphone), I was able to sync the information that was in my computer with the "new" iPhone. I lost text messages and app settings (since those are not in the sync options), but was able to recover all my contacts, calendar info, emails, music, videos, and applications. I restored the iPhone through itunes (connect iPhone to comp, open itunes, and in the info tab of the device press restore). After the software restoration, you need to set your wifi connection (this is optional), and enter your apple ID (no worries if you don't want to connect through iCloud, it will ask later if you want to do it or not). The iphone will ask to connect to computer and either restore as a new iphone or from a backup. I tried MANY times to restore from backup, but the iphone just went blank and did not work. Restoring as a "new" iPhone and then sync with itunes did work. Good luck with this one - it took me a long time to figure it out.
