iphone 5 Bluetooth streaming to car stereo doesnt have song, artist, controls, etc iOS 6 problem?

I'm having the same problem with iPhone 5 in 2011 Acura TL.

It doesn't allow me to control the music when pared through Bluetooth audio.

It was working fine when I had iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. Its obviously a bug in iOS6.

Same problem here with iPhone 5 connecting to an aftermarket JVC unit; fingers crossed for some kind of fix because I picked this head unit with streaming as a "must have" feature (among others).

Who else has the same issue?

I do. I have the Kenwood stereo and as soon as I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 I lost the ability to control music and see the song/artist feed on the stereo display. The next day I go my iPhone 5 which will pair but does not allow my stereo to control the music. Very disappointed and hoping there is a fix soon.

I have the same stereo as the OP which I just installed a month ago. Kind of disappointed as I carefully planned out the purchase due to being able to integrate my then iPhone 4. Once I upgraded to iOS 6 and then to iPhone 5 with iOS 6 all connectivity was lost. In BT i can hear audio but have to go to my phone to control song selection which defeats the whole purpose. The only control I have on my stereo and remote with BT is volume. I also noticed the volume no longer automatically goes to full volume like it did before.

I also have the iPod cable, halfway down you can take it apart and there is a usb connection. I can connect with the Lightning usb cord but it's also very buggy. It will at least show song playing but does not work like before plus since I'm only connected to the usb and not the video I cannot play video or use any apps such as Maps as my GPS.

I love my stereo and I love my phone. Just hoping Pioneer can come up with a new cable and Apple can resolve the software issues.

I have same issue but have iPhone 4 but problem started after upgrade to ios6

I have that same model of Pioneer player. I had no problem syncing with my iPhone 4S, but when I tried syncing with my iPhone 5, I could not sync. I also could not sync with my Macbook Pro with Retina display. Must be the new OS. Is Apple losing it?

Got this response from pioneer when I emailed them regarding this issue:

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

Pioneer is aware, has reported it to engineers for investigation. We are working with Apple to determine a solution. We have no ETA on conclusion of investigation.

I have the exact same issue with my Pioneer CD player unit after this iOS 6 update. I am severely considering downgrading my iPhone back to iOS 5 because this is unacceptable.

I have an iPhone 4s and after upgrading to ios 6 I have no sing info anymore in my VW Jetta 2012 with RNS 510. I connect with the VW cable but also over bluetooth song info will not transfer anymore.

I am starting to dislike Apple (never thought this could happen)

I have a brand new 2013 Audi Q7.

Same for me. When I upgraded my 4s to iOS 6 all info was lost.

Got a iphone5 but same - no title info, artist info.

Same problem with me, using an iPhone4 with the latest iOS, it used to sync 100% of the time in my 2012 vw jetta, now it syncs about 10% of the time. My dashboard and steering wheel buttons no longer control my iPhone and the song title/artists don't show up. I can still play music through the speakers wirelessly but I have to manually change things on my iPhone and I don't like doing that while driving. I know this sounds like the stupidest first world problem if there ever was one, but it bothers me.

Same problem...I have the iPhone 5, and in the Hyundai 2012 Santa Fe, it won't work. The phone connects fine, just the music through bluetooth doesnt. It's so frustrating!

Found a new problem this weekend. My wife has a Ford Edge with Sync, my phone will not sync with it or even connect.

2011 Mazda 3S owner here and unfortunately neither my 3GS, 4S or 5 have streamed the song titles and album info. My display for my audio system just shows bt audio but nothing else. I didn't really think anything of it since I've never had that ability before. general functionality (skip songs) and things work great though
