I bought an unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple and would like to add my voicemail number. I tried all the codes that worked fine with my iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s (*5005*86*xxx# etc.). The iphone screen does indeed flash like it did before, but the voicemail button won´t work afterwards.
Anyone having an iphone 5 and was able to get the voicemail button working?

Really, if I buy an unlocked device from Apple I guess I could at least ask for it to work properly....very annoying issue.
it's a shame for apple. since month they are not able to provide a solution how to program this stupid key.
when you call apple they claim that the mobile provider is responsable for this. this is a big shame. on every other device you are able to set the voicemail number to a special key. but not so on the iphone.
on the iphone you need a stupid carrier bundle signed by the mobile provider.

I have just been in contact with Orange regarding this they advised to dial:
*5005*86*123#
This will set the voicemail number to 123 (orange) so hopefully (i've not tested) you can just put your voicemail number inplace of 123!

This solution worked before iPhone 4, since 4S, this doesn't work... and tested again on iPhone 5, no, it didn't work.

Try *5005*86*22201# it appears that oranges voicemail number has changed, this justt worked on my wifes iphone 5
this codes are all not working for me here in austria with bob because this carrier has no carrier bundle. also after upgrading from iOS 6.0.2 to iOS 6.1 all APN settings were gone.
this is an epic fail on the side of apple.
Having the same issue in Australia after switching to Kogan Mobile.
The **5005... Code doesn't work on the iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.
Kogan will not help (no carrier settings to push), and Apple phone support won't either! Very frustrating, indeed.

Don't forget you may have to do it everytime you update your iphones operating system
