Does the button feel faulty ?

(When this happened to my 4s it didnt click properly)

I would first try a restore to eliminate software, then only solution iPhone genuis to replace or raise service request with apple.

ok, so i took it to the store and the guy pushed the menu button super fast a bunch of times to no avail,, go figure. after all that, an appointment, driving 15 mins etc.. Its doing it again now but seems to be really bad when you power it back up with the top button, unlock/swipe the phone, then push the button.. seems to be about 10 seconds every time. this has to be software or OS?

OK guys, restoring and resynching didn't do a thing to help, however I do believe that 1 am now offering the simplest solution to this problem... Simply push the lightning connector hard into the its port (plug the cable to it port and push hard), one strong push was sufficient for me to realign the Home button and make it work again!

Hi guys- my home button is quite tempramental. I'm afraid to press it too hard in case I damage the phone. I have found that sometimes if apps I've been using are left live, the phone slows down( just quickly double click home button- if it works!) to see what's still open, then close them down. However, today, apps all closed and home button being moody again. Not what I'd expect for an iPhone 5.
