Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail

All,

If you are reading this, you are probable having the same problem as I am:

After you switched to the iPhone 5, Exchange mail is no longer PUSHing to your device. I have done testing and this problem affects:

1) iPhone 5's running connecting to Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010 servers.

This does not effect:

1) my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 Beta 6.0 10A5376e

Troubleshooting:

1) Wiped phone and started with completely fresh iOS 6 on my iPhone 5. The only thing I did was add my exchange account.

-Still had same issue.

** How to fix this issue:

1. Go to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar. Click "Fetch New Data". Make sure push is on.

2. Go back to Mail, Contact, and Calendar. Click on your exchange account. Click on "Days to Sync". Even if it is set to what you want this on, chance it to a different setting (i.e. 1 week). You can change this back later, but this is the only way to fix it.

3. Go back to Mail COntact and Calendar. Click on "Show". No matter what this setting is on, change it to a different setting. (i.e. 100 recent messages).

4. Reboot your iPhone 5

5. Exchange PUSH will be working now.

Thanks,

Clay

Yes and unfortunately, I have tried the same things and got the same results. It just doesn't work and can only hope Apple fixes soon. I did talk with a customer support rep a couple of days ago and he acted like this was the first time he has heard of anyone having problems with active sync...I can only hope that he was an exception to the rule and that Apple IS well aware of the problem and we can expect a fix sometime in the near future.

Thanks Frank - I'm new to the iPhone, so have never had to deal with Apple customer service. I've had an android phone for the past several years and never had a problem with active sync. I made the jump to the iPhone 5 and have been very pleased, with the exception of the push email problem. I'm glad to hear this has been elevated (I am also on Verizon) and like the saying goes - patience is a virtue!

Thanks again.

I like Apple products but they need to work on messaging and distinguishing between corporate or home users. I am not quite sure why a solution to this problem wasn't provided within a week. I'm not really complaining about pictures, iTunes, or maps- I am complaining about email which we need daily for our businesses.

I'm beginning to lose faith.

So true completely agree. I need this to function for day to day business in my field. It is very frustrating, i hope its resolved soon. What is funny is mine works and then doesn't it decides when to and when not too. Right now its back to working again when it wasnt about an hour ago and when i wake up tomorrow morning it will most likely be not working again been doing this every day since 10/5 and i never had an issue since then for 12 months no issues.

Don't worry about the conversation. They have never been good about admitting problems - unless they have been blasted by the media (antenna issues, maps, etc.). This particular problem hasn't, but as I keep saying, they've broken push before, and they've fixed it before. The enterprise and Exchange is important, and there are probably some fairly important companies complaining.

Frank,

I've seen you all over this thread acting like a cheerleader on crApple's behalf. You are the epitome of a crApple fanboy.

Do you read the content of your own posts?

Are you kidding me? You want crApple customers to just ignore the poor customer service they're receiving? As many others here have posted, I, too, have been spoken to by crApple phone CSRs in a VERY condescending manner, as though I'm imagining this problem exists - like it's my fault somehow. Even when I mentioned this thread to the CSR, he refused to acknowledge it, citing that forum threads are not representative of a product defect.

I'm starting to see people on this thread doing what they should be doing, which is voting with their wallets. Quit trying to beg people to stay with crApple by attempting to justify unacceptable customer service standards.

I took my iphone 5 back today. I'm back on Android, and everything is working just fine.
