Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail

Interestingly, even after my multi-day good fortune of push of mail working ended yesterday afternoon and I'm still without it, reminders on this same exchange server are being successfully pushed to my iphone 5 this morning.

I'm still good after 27 days (lucky I guess) and all I did was this...go to settings, mail, fetch new data, advanced, selected my exchange account, move it to fetch then back to push.

Hopefully 6.0.1 takes care of this for everyone, as well as the calendar hijack issue.

iOS 6.0.1 is now available for download. However, the limited release notes don't say anything about an Exchange push fix. However, don't despair as they have fixed bugs like this before without bothering to acknowledge it in the notes.

I encourage all of you to install this as soon as possible. We won't know if this bug was fixed until we're running with it over the long term without issues. I will be monitoring the logs for apsd crashes. If the crashes go away that's a good sign.

I wouldn't bother to install it and declare in a few hours or even a few days that it has been fixed, as many of us have run for many days without the failure appearing.

Just downloaded and installed 6.0.1 (along with its curious required installer download to download iOS). Push back to working after being hit and miss for last 2 days. But as above poster states, time will tell.

Don't get your hopes up folks. Installed 6.0.1 E-mail pushed for a bit, then stopped. Same old, same old....

No push-joy here either with 6.0.1 and Exchange 2010 SP2.

This is a very basic thing that should have been caught very early in testing. Major fail.

Same here on Verizon. I even did a restore and started from scratch. Died within 30 minutes. I hope folks--especially AT&T users--keep this thread posted. I'll switch to another carrier if I have to.

Well, I upgraded and it is working great, on all my push accounts corporate and Gmail.

Please don't break....please don't break.......etc etc

For those who already see the failure, can you confirm if you still get apsd crashes?

I just want to reiterate that I was able to permanently fix my apsd crash / push notification problem by setting up the phone as new and NOT restoring from backup (instead manually reinstalling apps and settings). I've been running this way for 12 days now—and push has never stopped working, and apsd hasn't crashed once. Previously, I was having the problem every few hours. So I know this is a huge PITA, but at least for me, it worked. I also installed 6.0.1 today and continue to see no push issues.

If this is too much of a hassle for folks, Apple did seed iOS 6.1 beta to developers today. If anyone who has a developer account has tried it, it would be interesting to know if it fixes the push problem without having to set up your phone as new.

Frank: No ASPD crashes on my phone. I assume you're still getting the crashes now with iOS 6.0.1 on your AT&T? If so, I won't bother changing providers. I already tried the set up phone as new and not restoring from backup to no avail. Not sure what I am going to do here. The only person I know who does NOT have push problems on the iPhone 5 is a gentleman with Sprint 3G/CDMA, which leads one to conclude that this really is an LTE/4G problem. It astounds me that this isn't on the radar to fix with so many now going to LTE/4G.

Can someone spell out where to find the ASPD crash reports so I don't have to parse through 34 pages in this thread?

Settings-->General-->About-->Diagnostics & Usage-->Diagnostic & Usage Data

Settings>General>About>Diagnostics & Usage (at the bottom)>Diagnostic & Usage Data

Scroll down and look for:

apsd_<date><time>

and tap on the entry. Look for:

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)

This means the Apple Push Support Daemon (apsd) crashed and is a sign of the bug.
