Whether or not there are others with setup issues with hotmail or outlook running as exchange, please don't clutter this thread with those issues. That is not what this thread is about.

There is a very specific and known iphone 5 exchange server push email issue ( not iphone 4 or ios 5  or hotmail or outlook  either), despite occasional other clutter thrown in here.

Yep, and how do you know that "very specific" Exchange bug isn't effecting these other accounts as well? You don't. If you knew, you'd have this issue solved wouldn't you.

So this is an Exchange issue, period. Not Hotmail or Outlook specific. So we're posting it here. Thanks.

This goes a bit beyond the decorum and requirements of the Apple Support Communites.  Caesarp was calling attention to the fact that the subject of this forum involves corporate users who use EAS push mail with Microsoft Exchange Enterprise servers.  Perhaps this issue is affecting Hotmail.  Whether he or anyone else on this thread does or doesn't know is irrelevant.  Those of us who posted here know that this specific issue does affect, and hence why the thread was started back in September.  As for "you'd have this issue solved wouldn't you" ad hominem remark, read back through this thread.  No one, including you or anyone else posting, can solve this issue.  It's an iOS bug Apple must fix (hence those who posted about the Beta releases and experiences).

Disconnecting from this thread since it's taking a turn off topic and the snark is more than I care to deal with when trying to resolve this corporate issue.  Caesarp, for what it's worth, I'm having luck with B4 and this original issue.  Good luck.  I hope others have the same luck with Beta 4 and EAS.

I agree Kerry. Even though there are still some issues with exchange setup for hotmail/outlook, exchange push is still not working correctly. Delayed email delivery, delayed sync updates.

Good news about the beta.  When is it expected that IOS 6 Beta 4 will be officially released?

Thanks for stating your opinion. These communities are here to promote sharing of ideas, observations, experiences. Although this started as a corporate EAS issue, other have/are experiencing other exchange push issues, hence the sharing of what we see/know. I sure hope Beta 4 is the answer to all the EAS issues.

I performed the reset that this article suggests, I am 24hours in and the push service on my iPhone is still beating my desktop...

It's working for me so far, but I will keep the thread posted with further results.

So, I performed this reset method thrice, all three times, it worked on my IP5, but not my wife's. Everytime, the push stopped working after I rebooted the phone and this last time I had to reboot because my phone was stuck on 3g, and I could not get it to work again even aftare trying this reset method 5 times. Yesterday, I decided to install 6.1 Beta 3, because there have been reports of push getting fixed for some people after update to Beta 3 on the MAcrumors forum. I ujpdated to Beta 3, and Push has been working perferctly, even after restarting the phone. Keeping my fingers crossed, seems like its fixed for me, will try it on my wife;s phone tonite.

More testimony to the weirdness of this whole issue.

Exchange Push has not been working for about 2 weeks (other than the 1-2 hours immediately after) since I engaged in the desperate solution of switching out my 5 for my previously push-challenged 5.

The wi-fi network at my office has been down since yesterday morning, so I was 4G'ing all day yesterday and again today, when starting about 30 minutes ago, I start getting exchange mail pushed to my 5.

No action (at least overt) on my part - other than having the battery die and plugging it in to re-charge - which it was doing when push started.  Crazy!

BTW, I'm still running iOS 6.0.1.

The Apple Dev Notes on beta 4 I have seen (above?) appear to specifically reference issues with Exchange push when moving between wifi and cellular networks.

Given that, has anyone experiencing this issue tried running just cellular after using the Reset Network Settings option? And given that LTE is not yet ubiquitous across most areas, also ensuring you are running the phone in 3G (not LTE) mode? The less network transitions that happen it sounds like the better.

Push has been working fine on my iPhone 5, 6.0.1 against our Exchange 2010 so I cannot verify it myself. Just wanted to ping the group on what others are seeing as this increasingly sounds like a problem with some iOS push agent dying when the network switches (which could be often if bouncing between cellular, LTE, and 3G networks.

    Clif,

Although I am not running an ip5 (currently running a 4s in Canada with Rogers), I almost never use WIFI unless I am doing something specific.

As a result, my 4s is ALWAYS on 3G, and I am experiencing this issue with CORP exchange.  I have installed each and every BETA to come down the pipe, and nothing has resolved this for me (including the new BETA 4).  I have an open case with Apple and have been working with their engineering department for weeks, and still have not had a resolution.

I have tried every reset/fix in this forum, and am getting realy tired of having to restore my phone :-/

Ken, sorry to hear this. Have you pursued replacement of the phone with Apple/Rogers? We had similar misfortunre with our one of our corporate users who finally returned his phone, switched from Verizon to AT&T, and had no issues with push on the new phone hardware. Definitely not saying that's a panacea, just one person's experience.

With reports that Beta 4 may in fact finally fix this, and having 3 devices, I'm gonna wait till 6.1 is released before doing the suggested DFU fix.

Have not gone the replacement route YET!  I am still working with Apple on this, and I am waiting for at least a few more days to see what they come up with.

I have even gone so far as to give the Apple engineers an account on our CORP email server to do some testing, and I know that they have been doing that since Friday (including the weekend) as I can see the tests that they are doing back and fourth.....

I know as of last night.... they had setup an automation that sent emails to the test account at a constant level (with the phrase QA test in the body of the email), so I am hoping that they are "testing" a fix.  Only time will tell.

    Thank you!!

Clif, after the update to Beta3, mine is working on LTE/3G/wifi, and continues to work even after I reboot. Hope this helps. Will know better when I update my wife's IP5 which has never worked more than an hour.
