Q: Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail

All,

If you are reading this, you are probable having the same problem as I am:

After you switched to the iPhone 5, Exchange mail is no longer PUSHing to your device.  I have done testing and this problem affects:

1) iPhone 5's running connecting to Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010 servers.

This does not effect:

1) my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 Beta 6.0 10A5376e

Troubleshooting:

1) Wiped phone and started with completely fresh iOS 6 on my iPhone 5. The only thing I did was add my exchange account.

-Still had same issue.

** How to fix this issue:

1. Go to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.  Click "Fetch New Data".  Make sure push is on.

2.  Go back to Mail, Contact, and Calendar.  Click on your exchange account. Click on "Days to Sync".  Even if it is set to what you want this on, chance it to a different setting (i.e. 1 week).  You can change this back later, but this is the only way to fix it.

3. Go back to Mail COntact and Calendar.  Click on "Show".  No matter what this setting is on, change it to a different setting. (i.e. 100 recent messages).

4.  Reboot your iPhone 5

5.  Exchange PUSH will be working now.

Thanks,

Clay

    Well,this certainly is strange.....

I'm not about to say 6.02 was a fix, because if it was, then it should be mentioned in the notes for the update.

However, after doing the full DFU restore and installing 6.02 while connected to iTunes last night, and then testing push by sending emails to my work email (exchange).... Emails were still not being pushed to my iphone, but were being pushed to my ipad.

I wake up this morning, and emails are being pushed to my phone flawlessly at the exact same time as they are being received on my ipad.  Thats been over 6 hours now.  Previously, since getting my iphone5 back in Oct, push has not worked for more than a few minutes, despite what temporary fix i tried.

Nothing has changed since last night.... Same environment, same wifi connection.  So it truly is a mystery how it just started to work this morning, and work for this long.  Im about to head out, so the real test for me will be switching from wifi, LTE, 3G....  Keeping my fingers crossed.  If this is fixed, id be thrilled with it being end of the year and to many urgent matters that need immediate attention when an email pops up.

M&M83 - Mine did the same thing about a month ago for no rhyme or reason.  I woke up one morning and it worked.  It lasted about 3 days and then went back to failing.

Trust me I'm right.  6.0.2. is not a fix (see below people confirming).  What you may have been seeing is conincidental and no difference from all the other restores, backups, etc. that everyone has tried for the last 50 pages in this thread -- where someone comes back and says "fixed".  Then 3 days later -- oops -- never mind.  It was temporary.

    Wait till 6.1

    Only time will tell.

Still working for now.  Have now gone to and from home and work.  Have seen LTE, 3G, and two different Wifi networks come and go, with no push failures.  Prior to 6.02, I never experienced anything like this sustained level of performance.

Will report back if it breaks.

I agree... Im not saying its fixed, but seems to be working all of the sudden fo rme for the first time since i got the phone in Oct.  maybe it will last long enough until 6.1 comes out.  Either way, i like when it works and i get my work email when it gets sent to me.

push is not working for me on a VzW iphone 5 either despite numerous attempts. I have a iphone 4 with IOS601 which works fine.

What I noticed over the last two nights is that push seems to work late at night but that is gone by the time I wake up the next day

None of the fixes have worked for me as yet.  I can only hope that Verizon & Apple come up with a solution before the 5S, 6, and later phones arrive.

Push is still working after about 48 hours.  Previous record before 6.02 was about ten minutes.

My Exchange Calendar had stopped syncing after few days and after following the steps you described, it synced back all the missing calendar events on my iPhone5. Thank You! It worked.

I installed the 6.1 beta 4 update last week and I have been receiving emails flawlessly. In and out of WIFI, 3G, and 4G networks. I think the update will be released to the masses soon. Maybe x-mas gift from apple to all its loyal peeps.

Folks, just read this short article that specifically states a fix for push email on iOS 6.1 beta 4.  I'm signing up for a dev account after the holidays so I can download the update and test it myself but it looks like apple Dev has addressed the issue in beta 4.

Google search on "download ios 6.1 beta 3 download without developer account". Once beta 3 is installed, beta 4 is an over the air download.
