When is the exact date for the realese of the iPod touch 5th gen

No, we don't. What you can do is to keep your eye on the Store tab, and check for any changes.

ok so now the button changed from pre-order to buy now, what does that mean, do you think it's released now?

"Available to ship" still says only "October".

Because other online stores say they are due Oct 15, Apple would surely release them at least a week before that. Hopefully they are relased this week. You may have noticed that if you go to buy an iPod touch 5 from the online apple store, the status has gone from "pre-prder" to "buy now."

It also depends when you pre ordered it and how many Apple has made compared to how many people bought it. But who knows, they may have plenty for all.

I chatted with a Specialist last night and they said, "Once it ships out you will receive it within 5 business days." So at least you know you are going to get it soon once it ships.

The Apple Sales Team don't know so your guess is as good as mine.

They have them in stock today... Grand Central Station (NYC), as well as 5th Ave store... Just bought a Slate (black) 32GB itouch...
