How do I remove an app that I can't find?

My log file is showing references to an application that I don't remember ever installing and that I can't find in the Application listing:

9/23/2012 9:21:52.872 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.502: (com.bjango.istatlocal[618]) posix_spawn("/Library/Application Support/iStat local/iStatLocal", ...): No such file or directory

Can you tell me how to find the lingering files so I can delete them/uninstall the software properly?

iStat is a Dashboard Widget.

Search your Mac for anything related to iStat: http://bjango.com/mac/

That's the thing - I did search for istat and for bjango on my computer but get no results. Any tips on folders to check or apps to install that will find stray files and remove them?

Don't install anything unless you want even more stray files to eradicate.

Type the following in Terminal (copy and paste to avoid errors):

kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/'

Post its output, if there is any.

I have to admit I don't remember ever installing this software and it doesn't sound like something I'd even consider trying, so I'm not sure where it came from. That said I tried a trick recommended elsewhere to reinstall the software and then use the uninstaller that comes with it - I did that and do believe that worked because I don't see it in this list :

OK, look in the following locations for anything related to iStat:

/Library

/Library/Application Support

/Library/Bundles

/Library/Caches

/Library/Extensions

/Library/Frameworks

/Library/Preferences

/System/Library/Extensions

/System/Library/LaunchAgents

/System/Library/LaunchDaemons

~/Library

~/Library/Application Support

~/Library/Caches

~/Library/LaunchAgents

~/Library/Preferences

~/Library/Preferences/ByHost

Wherever you find it, drag it to the Desktop and reboot. It should no longer appear in your Console logs.
