ios 6 calendar list view skipping back and forth

Weird behavior from my iPhone calendar since upgrading to ios 6. In List View, it sometimes skips ahead a couple of months and then steps its way back about a week at a time. Other times when I'm flicking ahead a few days, it instead jumps three months ahead. Then it steps back again.

I have four calendars synchronized across iCloud and multiple devices. They worked perfectly before the ios upgrade.

And then there's the maps... :-)

I'm seeing the same thing since my upgrade to iOS6. something to do with syncing iCloud calendars based on the dates & times that the list view scross to.

Obviously there is a problem here. My iPhone Calendar is nearly USELESS in List View on my iPhone 4S after the iOS 6 update. It jumps wildly at random to previous dates, sometimes YEARS BACK. It will start skipping forward and back, not alowing me to scroll ahead a day or two and make an entry, until it's done scrolling/jumping around. It almost looks like it's adding and removing previous entries. I sync 9 different calendars, some of which are calendars I subscribe to. HELP!!

SOMEONE AT APPLE - PLEASE RESPOND ASAP WITH A FIX!

I'm facing the same problem, and it was causing a huge battery drain/overheating problems on my 4S after the upgrade to iOS6. (I also got a data overage message from AT&T.) Additionally, I noticed some calendar entries on my phone were disappearing.

My phone and desktop (Mac Mini) are my primary calendars, synced through iCloud. I also have my Outlook calendar synced in iCloud via Google Calendar.

After reading multiple posts here and elsewhere, I tried the following:

  • hard resets
  • deleting and restoring my iCloud account on my phone
  • restoring factory settings
  • restoring from a backup

Although the battery drain problem did improve slightly, none of these resolved the problem entirely. Ultimately, I turned off the iCloud calendar sync, and replaced the calendar on my phone with that on my computer via a sync on iTunes. (My iCal calendar is correct.) This has resolved the battery drain situation, and the overheating.

From reading other posts on related issues, my educated guess is that somehow the calendar file on my phone became corrupted during the upgrade. Unfortunately, I don't think I thave access to a backup prior to the iOS 6 upgrade, so a restore from backup won't resolve the problem. (I'll have to do some detective work this weekend.)

If my guess is corrected, the only resolution is to do a restore as a new iPhone. Either that, or hope and wait for a software fix from Apple. 😕

Same issue here. Mine skips a year back or two years ahead. Apple store said they hadn't heard of this happening. I was also having the Verizon time issue, which they also said they hadn't heard of. The only answer they had was to give me a new phone. Guess what.... it does the same things. Time changes randomly and calendar jumps all over the place.

I see the same behavior. iPhone 4, iOS 6.

I am *guessing* it has to do with the calendar sync setting.

Mine is set to sync events 3 months back. I think it is jumping around removing events older than 3 months and adding the new ones. I shouldn't see the UI jump around while it updates though, it should just update in the background.

It's a bit irritating but not a killer for me. Hit the today button and it jumps the current date at least.

Same here - list view skips around by years, weeks, months, all randomly - what is astonishing to me is that this bizarre scrolling problem is now nearly a month old. I'm sure it's not rocket science for Apple to fix it ... if only they cared.

I used to like using my phone; now it's become, well, rather tedious. (That battery drain snafu and the total lack of response from Apple was a completely unnecessary example of disregard for customers.)

Yo, Tim Cook, do something for the people that give you their money.
