Apple maps stinks. Every time I've tried to use it, it has been dead useless. On google maps you can enter the name of a store or a place and it will find the nearest one to you. With apple maps I will get some place name that matches the name of the store but 10 states away.

Just watched the Samsung advert and now I feel stupid for buying an IPhone 5

For Apple to release an obviously inferior product, they are showing that they no longer have the standards they used to.

I was going to buy the iphone 5 but after downloading the new ios on my 4s, its not going to happen.  The maps was and is a huge part of why I use the phone.  I live outside the US and travel a lot.  The maps program is useless!!  I own all Apple products but sorry apple, fix this or I am going to look elsewhere for my phone.

This is the version I did last year, and a new version has already been submitted to AppStore for reviewing.

So you can try it a bit and give me some advices, I'll try my best to improve it.

    Thank you!

notwithstanding the claim that ios6maps will get better, why did apple take a perfect product and replace it with an inferior product? whats the point?

I live in São Paulo, and I use public transportation.  Without Google Maps on my iPhone I could never have found the right bus to go somewhere, now I am screwed with Apple Maps as it does not help me find the bus line as before with Google Maps, instead it directs me to the Apps store so I can buy an app which will supposedly help me do that.

Pathetic...  If this is the way Apple is going to conduct business from now on, I am starting to look for Android alternatives.

What did you do before Google maps?

  • Kitchentea Level 1 (0 points)

It can't get better because very few people using it, trust is gone. And Apple haven't got enough people working on it. Please, please, please let it die soon. Such a turkey app.

NOT updating to iOS6 and NOT buying iphone 5 untill either the old maps app is back (which i doubt) or Apple maps is at least as good as the old one.

    Siri! Delete Apple maps

What i want to know is where are the Apple comments on all of this? One pithy apology from some guy in america means nothing to me on the ground...what needs to happen in a crisis like this is:

    a) listen to your customers...quickly

    b) formalise a plan internally to address the biggest issues

    c) make a public comment within 72 hours and KEEP UPDATING IT!

    d) tell people what your priority list is and tell them when they can expect their update

    e) KEEP TELLING PEOPLE WHAT IS GOING ON

this Closed Off Apple method is really starting to twist me and I think that, even though I just got a 5, I am sacking it off at the next available opportunity if they don't start being more open with their customers...AKA THE PEOPLE THAT PAY THEIR WAGES...anyone feeling all a bit Microserfs right now?!

Example: I tried to search for 'The Cotswolds' on my Apple Maps, while at my London address...it decided to show me companies with the name 'cotswold' in it near me..?! If Google Maps could distinguish, then why the **** can't Apple Maps? A rhetorical question...but one that needs answering by the developers ASAP because for what they charge for their tech (regardless of going OS updates for free) if it isn't FIT FOR PURPOSE (Sale of Goods Act) then surely there should be some sort of action VERY VERY SOON!

    Thoughts? Apple Input? Anything?!

No problems here, the new maps app works better IMO than google maps for my area (central Florida). There are a lot of discussions out there about it, interesting to see this unfold...
