Aperture crashes when I try to start it. Just started happening, error message below.

I'm running a new retina Macbook. Any ideas? Thanks.

That is a very typical crash. In your Aperture application package is a framework missing, Apple has released a support article for this situation: You need to deinstall and reinstall Aperture. See this article:

Aperture 3.4 and later: Some third-party plug-ins are no longer compatible

No, reinstalling Aperture does not remove your Aperture Library with the images. The program and the database with the images are completely separate items.

Btut it is always a good idea to make a backup of everything, before doing a major update. When the upgrade goes well, Aperture will upgrade your library to the new version, and afterwards it cannot be opened by earlier Aperture versins any longer.
