Max # of pictures in a shared photo stream - Data usage?

Darren, the Apple doc whose link you have provided must have been written by a lawyer! It talks about the number of photos (per hour) you can sync up, but not the number of photos the service will **store** on the servers.

When it states they can be uploaded why would that imply they can be stored. I could see why you might think that in other circumstances, but not when the photostream description still quotes the 1000/30 limit.

Can anyone else verify this? I currently have ~800 photos in my photostream. Does anyone have 1000+?

(this would, in my mind, prove that we are not/no longer capped at 1000photos and 30 days).

I've got 974 photos in one shared folder and 19 in another so a total of 993 and have had no issues as yet. I'm pretty sure that the amount of photos for shared photo streams is unlimited!

Then keep adding to the stream to get over the 1000 mark. You may make the Guinness book of records.

I don't even know why anyone's bothered, if and when you get a notification saying that you have reached your shared limit then what's the issue.

I think it's become an academic issue.

This is incorrect. The limits for My Photo Stream is independent of Shared Photo Stream. You get 1000 photos/30 days in My Photo Stream regardless of the number of photos in Shared Photo Streams.

There is a limit for photos in Shared Photo Streams, but it's large.

Photos in Shared Photo Stream are cached on your device. Occasionally they will be re-fetched from the cloud, but that will not happen unless you're running very low on available Flash storage.

I have been adding and adding to my shared photo stream and i have just now had a notification pop up saying:

This photo stream is full

You can only have 1000 shared photo streams. Delete one of your existing photo streams and try again

I really did think this would be a great service but it now seems to me that it is completely useless! I will now be going back to using third party photo sharing.

If 1000 Shared Photo Streams isn't enough for you then you're right—a 3rd party product may be best.

Does that mean you could have 1000 shared photo streams with infinite pictures each?

Once I had the max number of 1000 photos in my shared stream I was able to start other shared streams and add photos to them.

It appears that we are allowed to add a max of 1000 photos to each shared stream.

How many shared streams are we allowed? I do not know, I guess someone someday will get to the point of finding out.
