It does seem like Verizon is the common cause of this problem

    Hi guys...

Haven't heard back from Apple yet, but I seem to have fixed the problem:

I backed up my phone to iTunes on my iMac, restored to factory settings via iTunes, then reinstalled the backup to the phone.

The time change issue (which has occurred every night so far) did NOT occur last night. My alarm went off when it was supposed to!  Yay! Lol.

Ill let you know if I hear from Apple or if I run into the issue again.

Let me know if it works for you...:0)

Thanks, I will try when I get home.  I have left it on manual and it seems ok.  Question though, if I switch to automatic, go to a different time zone, will it change the times of my appointments on my calendar?  My whole family uses the calendar, so I can't have that changing just because I'm out of town.  Thanks for the help!

This has not fixed my issue, After talking to apple I did a restore and set up the phone as new and the issue is still happening for me.  Time goes to some weird AM hour and August 24th.  Verry Verry Frustrating!!!!!

My wife and I are having a similar problem.  Around 7:30 in the morning, our Verizon iPhone 5's, 32G, one white and one black, seem to think it is around 10:22 PM.  I'm not sure if the date was wrong, but will check if this happens again.  We turned phones on and off and that corrected the time.  We live in SW Washington state.  When I called Verizon this morning, I was told they had not heard about this problem yet.  Thanks to this forum, I know we are not alone.

    Same issue here.

VZW iPhone 5, 16 gig Southern California

Per the instructions from a senior Apple Advisor I did a "wipe and restore" yesterday morning and set up as a new phone. (did not restore from back up). All was well this morning, however after spending about 2 hours on the charger this evening the problem is back again.

    Very fusterating.

Don't know for sure, but it looks like you are all in Pacific Time Zone.

Actually, several of us are in the Eastern timezone (NC, FL)

Well I guess I will be looking more closely tomorrow morning at my iPhone's date and time.

Is everybody who has this problem using gmail and Google calendar?  My wife and I do and continue to have this problem.

Same problem.  16 GB, Pacific time zone, Verizon, Google calendar and gmail.  August 26 seems to be the date it reverts to.

Same issue here. I have the 64g/black/Verizon iPhone 5 and I live in Southern California. This issue happens with or without the iPhone being charged, and in either the "manual" or "automatic" date and time setting. The one thing in common with my iPhone when this issue occurs, is when I'm at far anyways. Apple and/or Verizon needs to fix this immediately, otherwise I'll be returning this device.

I am using google mail, not their calendar.
