I would then just wait until you get a notification saying the newest carrier update is ready for installation.

That is what I would do until the next carrier update comes out.

After talking (read: pushing) to verizon tech support this morning a tier 2 tech was able to find a "master ticket" that talked about the date/time issue. She explained that the ticket had been closed on the 5th. She went on to dig a bit deeper and found other tickets (apparently of individuals as opposed to some master ticket) that were later than the 5th stating that they were still experiencing the date/time foul ups.

One thing that would have vastly helped my calls this morning would have been a ticket that could have been referenced for Verizon's sake. I've looked and I thought that a ticket reference had been posted, I haven't been able to find one though.

IF you're still having troubles with your date/time. Please reference my verizon ticket number, in the notes of that ticket another ticket is referenced. The verizon tech you speak to may create a new ticket to give you, but they SHOULD link that ticket to mine, or the one mine is linked to. This will substantiate the fact that the issue is still ongoing and still needs to be addressed. Or if the issue truely has been resolved you may find out that there is something else going on with your phone and will be able to get to resolution faster.

I haven't checked in for a few days, but I'm on iPhone #3 and this phone also has time and date issue. However, I haven't been replacing my phones for this reason. My first phone had a scratch. My previous phone's home button was only working 60% of the time.

That being said, I tried a temporary fix that others suggested in this thread; I toggled LTE off.  After the initial time switch occurred on my new phone when I was syncing it with iTunes on Saturday, I decided to try the LTE tip. So far, my phone hasn't changed the time in the past 2 days now. However, when I'm at home I don't use LTE since that's the only place where the shift happens.

I'm also getting credit from. VZW since I don't have the full use of my phone. They are adjusting my bill to reflect loss of service fromSept. 21- present.

If you need to rely on your iPhone as your alarm clock like I do, toggle off. LTE. So far, I haven't had the phone switch. I toggle LTE back on when I leave home.

I have observed the same results. With LTE off, my phone seems to otherwise work normally, even when at home on WiFi. I too encountered the same issue with the time and date while at home on WiFi when LTE was on, however with LTE off, it seems to be working ok everywhere (on 3G and WiFi).

I called Verizon again today and talked to Jason.

My ticket number:  5702134 was "attached" to ticket number 5671193 which was filed on October 1st and is still open according to him.  He stated that he was going to get in touch with his supervisor who would reach out to NRB (as I now know as the Network Repair Buerau) and get an update on the status of the ticket and an expected resolution timeframe.  I advised him this wasn't a local issue as there are 20 pages of people on the Apple website complaining about this problem and that it is clearly a LTE coverage issue.  I suggested that they should let their stores and phone reps know that there is a problem since there are so many reports of people sending their phones back thinking this is a hardware problem.  At any rate, he has promised to get an update and call me back this afternoon by 11:00 PM EST or tomorrow at the latest.

October 16, Western NC, Verizon iPhone5, Black, 64Gig and I have this problem as well. Toggle Airplane Mode and it resets to correct time, occurs when at home on spotty LTE and Wi-Fi.  Will be calling Verizon today and seeking a credit.

I called and added myself to the ticket referenced above.  She did say there were lots of complaints & it was a known issue.  She had no update and guessed someday a patch would fix it.

If you are having this problem PLEASE call and add yourself to the ticket referenced above, the more the better.

Just spent 30 min with support generating a ticket for this issue!  The ticket number reference helped, but she told me that the actual parent ticket number is 5671193, but either number will get you there.  We will wait and see :-)

I'm having this issue as well, in Decatur, IL. Happened once about a week ago, made me miss an alarm in the morning because it thought it was night time. Then today twice at work it switched to about 3 days and 8 hours into the past. Restarting the phone fixes it, of course, but it's getting annoying at this point.

Same in Champaign, IL as well. Today I went into the corporate Verizon Store and they acted like they had never heard of this. The guy there told me it is an issue I'd need to talk to Apple about. I disagreed, I suggested he "Google" iPhone 5 time/date issue. After no help there, I spent an hour on the phone today with a nice lady at Verizon (tier 2) tech support. She confirmed that Apple has a "master ticket" on this isssue with them. She went through several setting changes with me on my phone but also did a lot of setting and account changes on her computer. I had been leaving my phone on 3G to avoid the time/date problem but she told me not to do that because when they do send a software update, if the update is specifically for 4G/LTE, it will not recognize my phone on 3G therefore bypassing me. So since the call at 11am today I have left me phone on LTE and have not had the issue. Perhaps it is due to the setting changes she made, but the issue is so sporadic that it could still pop up again. I am not calling this one solved yet...

I am not having the issue with my Verizon iPhone 5 but my husband is. His phone will lose time. This morning is was 35 minutes slow.  It does not seem to happen on the weekends and not every day.  He goes from Manhattan, KS to Ft. Riley to work during the week so I am wondering if that is causing this problem with his phone.  Our kids are in Wichita, KS and they have not been having the date/time issue with their phones.

I am also having the same problem. Southern California, Verizon iPhone 5 64gb. I've had the phone for about two weeks and have notice the time drifting slowly off by 3-5 minutes. Tonight at 10:40pm it changed itself to September 28th 4:35pm. Clearly that's not going to work. I am so so disappointed this is even an issue. A correct date and time is an absolutely basic feature and not something we should have to worry about. I can't even believe I'm going to have to bust out the old fashion alarm clock to make sure I get up in time for work tomorrow. I will definitely be calling Verizon tomorrow. This is ridiculous.
