Assigning different ringtones to contacts does not work in IOS6.

They are working on my 4 and 5, Both running iOS 6. Text Tones as well.

Have you tried a reboot?

You shut it down and restarted. To reboot, press and hold both the sleep and home buttons until you see the white Apple logo. Ignore if you see the Power Off Slide option.

Is that what you tried? I'm just guessing this will help. It's worth a shot.

Still not working for me. Only text ringtones work with contacts

I have properly assigned individual ringtones to contacts. When I go to contacts, it shows the ringtone. I have restarted, double button reboot, synced, deleted ringtones, synced using selected ringtones and rebooted and double button booted after each change. With my Iphone 4s OS 6, nothing works. I will head for the genius bar when I can, unless a genius reads this and tells me what else to do. Thx.

Yep I have the same problem, tried everything identified here and on the web, anyone have a solutiion?

Well not sure about anyone else but finally spoke with "support" today.

First call I made I was told if I paid $79.00 I would receive assistance for a year.

They could fix my problem through my pc.

Well not paying.

Phone 1-800-APPLE and was told that because didn't pay for call display through

my provider it isn't going to work for me.

Seems they don't advise you of that when you are making a decision on buying a phone.

They at least could have put a *note saying function only works under specific conditions.

I would have checked that out first thing.

Lesson learned I guess. Now my provider supplies that option free for new plans but won't

apply it to mine. So much for customer service. This all within a couple of months.

Now if anyone has any information that would change what I was told please let me know.

You are correct, I checked wih my ISP and you have to have caller ID on your phone for the ringtones to work and of course that is extra. Mystery solved so enjoy your ringtones.

I know right. Guess it is something I will do without.

Plus make sure when I renew my contract or need a new phone will check around more.

I found the same issue, and rebooted without results. Today, I found that there is some sort of conflict when one uses gmail contacts and icloud contacts. If you turn off one of them, then the individual ringtones should work. I turned off icloud and now my individual ringtones work. YAY! : )

I removed the contact from Contacts (not from phone contact) and it worked
