Repairing Vinyl LPs via Digital Audio

I'm in the process of transferring my LP collection to CD. Many of the LPs have seen better days. They are scratched and worn from being played too many times.

I'm looking for software tools that would help me remove the pops and hiss inherent in the digital transfer due to the condition of my collection.

I have lots of applications to choose from for the recorder. But none of them offers an effective tool for doing the repairs.

Suggestions please. But whatever you suggest MUST run on OS 9.

I have all of the tools mentioned by K.S. (including his link). They do what they do but what they do doesn't really repair vinyl recordings.

They all have general purpose filters that with enough patience will reduce the vinyl recording problems somewhat. But they are all universally fussy (read hit-and-miss time consuming) to use.

I'm looking for something specifically targeted at my specific task.
