Q: Apple TV photostream "unable to sign in"??

Just purchased and installed Apple TV today but when I try to launch Photostream, I keep getting the same error message

" Unable to sign in  The icloud Terms of Service have changed.  For more information, go to http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/."

which would be fine if it allowed me to read AND accept the terms and conditions. I've gone to the Terms of Service page, but there is no way to acknowledge and accept.

I've check my Login and password several times

I've restarted the Apple TV

It has the latest update

I've signed in and out of iCoud on several devices without incident, and none of them mention anything of terms of sevice change

iCloud works just fine on my iphone, ipads, and macbook pro.

I've noticed this in a few other posts, but have yet to see a satifactory answer or solution.

Any help out there?

    Fixed mine :-)

Using my iPhone, I went to settings, iCloud and was prompted to agree to the new terms, no need to change countries as some suggest, my Apple TV 3 photostream now works.

This is one of the weirdest  glitches ever. Have ATV3, on LAN. Before latest software, photo stream fine. Tried as others suggested changing country on my iPad 2. When I press change country, screen does not load. No country list to choose from. Tried changing on iTunes. Allowed me to do so. Did trigger new TOS on iCloud control panel. Still did work. What the f*** is going on with Apple? Fix this stupid problem!

Mine is now working..........at last I managed to trigger Icloud T&C.......I had not upgraded to IOS6 on the phone as the phone was telling me I did not have enough memory. But when I was on Itunes last night on the desktop, I plugged my phone in, and Itunes asked if I wanted to upgrade phone software. So I said yes, expecting it to kick me out. But it didn't, it loaded IOS6, crappy maps and all, the phone re-started, and Voila, I was prompted to accept the new T&C. Straight away photostream started loading on my ATV.

There are at least two different kind of errors. One is related to terms and conditions, one is not.

So there were 2 key points of success : uprade to  both iOS 6 on idevice and iCloud control panel 2.0 over pc/mac ??

But I don't want to upgrade my ipad to ios6,   rather keep the Jb

I am getting this issue. Just bought my ATV3 a few hours ago. Worked fine. Then asked me to update software. Now no photos. I cant do the country change thing as I have itunes Match. Tried to restore, it hung and wouldnt complete. I then lost my music, wouldnt connect to iTunes Match. So I tried to reset all settings. I have been staring at a screen saying "Activating..." for the last half hour. Getting seriously wound up!!!

Same issue and solutions for me as well.

Mine was hooked to eithernet, after upgrade to 5.1, photostream won't sign in. Did restore (won't restore), rest, power cord unplug, called apple support, took it to apple store... all Apple craps ... at the end of day, unplug the ethernetcable, just use wifi will make photostream "work", not as fast as ethernet.

The funny thing is that with eithernet cable connection, everthing else works but photostream.

if you connected your atv via eithernet cable, unplug the cable and try wifi...

Well that's what I have done and it works. But that's not acceptable from Apple!

I had this problem too (not related to Terms and Conditions) after updating to 5.1. Turns out it is modem (or modem setting) specific. I changed my modem to another brand and now Photostream works with ethernet too. Definetaly a bug nevertheless.

Yup, same issue here.  My story is in another thread, but essentially the 5.1 software will not work correctly on the Apple TV 3.  In my case, I can't login to PhotoStream, NHL, MLB, or WSJ when connected via the LAN Ethernet cable.  Seems ok by wifi but not an option in my case.

I called Apple, visited Genius Bar, swapped the unit out with a brand new one and the problem is there too.

I downgraded to 5.0.2 and everything is fine and like it should be.

Now if I can just prevent the annoying screen from coming up telling me to upgrade!

Anyway, along with everyone else, I'm extremely disappointed with Apple on this one.

Hoping for a fix to 5.2 since the shared photo streams is great... Sadly unusable for me for now.

    Cheers...

    D

    Interesting guys. Thanks for sharing.

I don't have a modem. I use a central ethernet connection so this modem setting that might be causing this is something that is also applicable to routers/switches in that case. I'm not sure of my ISP's configuration of course there might be a modem in the basement for all I know.

It seems weird that a modem setting should prevent this feature but I've seen stranger things happen.
