How to remove FTP sharepoint folder name of renamed folder?

Hello, I have a os/x server and originally I setup a few mount points as sharepoints for my users. The users had me change a few folder names and as a result the sharepoint names changed. Since then any FTP user that connects into the server get the new sharepoint names including the old ones which do not exist anymore. How do I remove the old names for the ftp users?
