Sep 25, 2012 8:13 PM in response to Mac Medic (be@MacOSG.com)by adamwellborn,Seriously, I get a new iPhone 5 in the mail from AT&T and cannot use it to make calls? I can watch movies, but there's no phone on this phone!
I figured I would just swap the sim card from the old phone, but Honey, They Shrank My SIM Card!
I have to go to the AT&T store - yuck

Sep 25, 2012 8:33 PM in response to adamwellbornby Mac Medic (be@MacOSG.com),It might just be a SIM issue. They will get you going or give you a new phone.

Sep 29, 2012 4:41 PM in response to Blondee2136by Lando717,I called my carrier and the guy told me to go to "settings", then "general", then to "reset", and then hit "reset network settings". The phone rebooted and when it was back on it had service. It doesn't erase any saved memory other than wifi passwords. Hope this helps!

Sep 29, 2012 4:43 PM in response to adamwellbornby ChrisJ4203,You should not need to go to the AT&T store. If you ordered the phone from AT&T or anyone else as an AT&T phone, it came with a SIM card. All you need to do is contact AT&T to activate the phone if you are having trouble doing it from iTunes.

Oct 1, 2012 6:05 PM in response to Lando717by dreadyboy,My iphone 5 has been doing this once a day for the past week. Turning off the phone works, as well as resetting network settings, but it's really annoying. No applestore where I live, telus said I should wait for an update fix from apple, hopefully one comes soon.

Oct 3, 2012 12:55 PM in response to dreadyboyby K Anderson,I am also with Telus and experiencing the same problem with my iphone 5. I have also discovered that turning off the phone fixes the problem and is usually the only way I ever see LTE. It's like it's loosing it's connection slowly and then only by resetting will it get the proper connection back.

Oct 4, 2012 3:08 PM in response to weixiang77by V70R,Same issue for me on Bell. Network reset does not always fix, but full reboot does.

Oct 4, 2012 5:07 PM in response to Blondee2136by Jason McLeod,I also have this problem. I need to reboot my phone in order to get service back. I'm on Telus in Ontario.

Oct 5, 2012 5:34 PM in response to Blondee2136by kfarina,I'm having the same problem too. I'm in Vancouver, BC. and I'm with Bell. It's BS. My boyfriend has the iPhone 4, and he's with bell also, and he never has the problem, so it's defintely a problem with the phone, not the networks.
I hope Apple fixes this soon, before the word gets out how unimpressive the new phone is
