I have a DVD that contains home movies; that is, material that is not copyrighted. The DVD plays with no problem on my MacBook Pro. How can I copy its contents onto another DVD?

Hello Niel . . .I was able to create the .cdr file on my Mac, but when I tried to burn it onto a blank CD, I got a message saying there was not enough room on the target CD, even though it is a brand new blank CD. Did I miss some sort of compression step?
ps: The .cdr file is 801mb in size.
You need to burn it through the Disk Utility and not in the Finder, and if it originally came from a DVD, it'll be too large to be duplicated onto a CD.
