Canon EOS Utility crash

I recently updated my Mac to the latest security update a few days ago. I also updated my Canon 7D camera firmware to v2.0.3. When I connect the camera through USB and switch the camera power to "ON", normally EOS Utility will launch automatically. Instead, EOS Utility crashes and generates an error report.

When I switch off the camera and launch EOS Utility independently, it launches normally without a problem. When I switch on the camera power, EOS Utility aborts and crashes. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstall several times. It didn't work. Can someone please help? Is someone else experiencing this problem?

This error started to happen when I updated my Macbook Air with the latest security software.

same thing happened to me.. Had a great time trying to get the canon protected software onto my airmac. (who is trying to steal canon's image browser anyway?) Once i finally got around that mess I come across this lovely bug. I need the computer control and monitor to photograph some fine detail artwork ASAP

At least I know Im not the only one with this problem.

hope they can fix this soon

I finally got a response from Canon. They said it's a known glitch and they were supposed to fix it sooner but for some reason they didn't...blah, blah, blah.....Canon officially said that they will release a patch for EOS Utility at the end of October 2012. They claim that this is not an Apple problem. It's Canon's problem. For the meantime, it looks like an external CF card reader works. I guess we'll have to wait until the bug is fixed in the next release of EOS Utility. FYI for now.

This March 2014 and they still do not have a solution. I have a 1DX and a 27 inch Imac with

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b). Two top line products that can't link. I used the remote feature for Micro photography but can't use it now. I also can't update my firmware. on Camera. This is crap. I find it hard to beleive.

I will be circulating my camera club to see if any of the 170 members has a solution. If they do I will post it
