iOS 6 bugs podcast app starts up by itself after ending phone call

Has anyone else has an issue with the music player starting? After turning off my morning alarm the podcast player fired up. Last night I had a similar issue after ending a phone call the pod cast started also. In both cases the pod cast had not been in use before the action that triggered it. iPhone 4 AT&T iOS 6

I have a similar problem. If the last audio I was using on my iPhone was from the Podcasts app, and I make or receive a phone call later, as soon as I end the call, the Podcasts app starts playing by itself. It doesn't seem to matter how long it's been between the time I stopped playing the podcast, and the time I get the call. As long as the Podcasts app was the last thing playing, this will happen. I am usually listening using Bluetooth audio, if that makes any difference.

I am also having this issue. Here are my conditions when it happens. I have left a podcast in stopped/paused state any number of hours earlier (up to 12 in my longest experience). When the podcast was last active, it was being used via bluetooth audio. One tie-in is that it always happens when the phone is locked. It has happened to me when:

-I snooze my morning alarm, the podcast starts playing.

-I deferred an incoming call with the new "I can't talk right now" text option and the podcast started playing. Ironically, I did this in a meeting because I couldn't take the call and didn't want to disturb the meeting. Everyone enjoyed the surprise podcast show. Doh!

-I answered an incoming call when the phone was locked, after I ended the call the podcast started playing.

I have a 4s.

Yes. Been embarassed in front of my ex-wife playing a podcast that was a little too on the nose. Also, embarassed in front of a customer that my personal life interjected into a work situation.

For me it happens when last audio was podcast and I hang up my call. I'm using a bluetooth headset for my calls, hang up call, podcast blairs through phone's speaker. iphone 4s.

I'm actively closing the program after each use which seems to work.

This has been happening to me too. I've switched back to Downcast, which (so far) does not seem to have exhibited the problem.

I can corroborate the conditions everyone else has been citing:

  1. Podcasts app was the last audio app in use.
  2. I was listening to the last podcast over bluetooth.
  3. Happens intermittently after ending a call, snoozing the alarm or, one time, changing a ringtone.

This is on an iPhone 5. I had iOS 6 beta on my iPhone 4, but I wasn't using the Podcasts app then, so I don't know if the problem was present at the time or is new to the release.

Very annoying. Hope it gets fixed in the first patch release.

I think the shut off car while podcast playing is the same as plug out the headphone. They are both output audio device removal.

Hit the pause button on the car stereo should be the same as press the pause button in podcast UI, because it's just a remote control.

Do you experience anything similar with the music app though?

Yesterday I took a call and when the caller hung up the iHeartRadio app started playing. I wasn't listening to it before the call, the phone was on mute and headphones were at not time plugged in during the call. Tried switching the phone off and on mute, tried the volume buttons, nothing worked. Music was blaring out of the speaker in the middle of my office. I had to unlock the phone and navigate to the iHeartRadio app and hit the stop button to halt the music. Happened again today but I took the call with headphones so it was less of a big deal.

Looking for controls to disable all auto-restart music features. Anyone know?
