Since updating to 5.1 yesterday, MLB.tv refuses to launch. I get "Accessing MLB.TV" with a spinning wheel for a while, then "MLB.TV is unavailable. Try again later." I can access it just fine on my Roku, so I know it isn't down. I've tried restarting, and that hasn't helped. Anyone else seeing this?
Yes, having the same problem here. It works fine on my MacBook and Android devices but won't work on Apple TV. Really annoyed.
No idea if it'll help, but something I've noticed Apple have added in the latest update is the ability to Hide the MLB app (among others).
To me, on this side of the pond, that's a good thing - but for you guys who want to access it.. it may be worth going into Settings>General>Parental Control, scroll down to MLB.TV and changing it to Hide. Come all the way out of the Settings app... then go back in and change MLB/TV to Show - this may be enough to give the softare a bit of a kick in the right direction.
As I say...no idea if it'll work - but worth a shot.

Won't work. Also WSJ and other apps don't work.
I've confirmed that disconnecting the ethernet cable and using Wi-Fi instead solves the problem. Ethernet is completely broken with this updates, even though using a time capsule.

If you are having Internet connectivity issues on your Apple TV that seem to be specific to Ethernet after updating to Apple TV 5.1, can you please email me <royb@apple.com> and describe what yournetwork looks like? For example, what is the manufacturer and model number of your router and how is it connected to the Internet? Is your Apple TV getting a DHCP-assigned IP address or is it statically assigned? Doyou have any other custom network settings that might be a factor?

Yep, switching to Wifi got things working again. I sent an email with my network configuration.
I too can confirm that after the update MLB TV now only works on wifi and not Ethernet. I was usng ethernet yesterday before the update and was working fine! Updated and now onlyworks on wifi. Reset Apple TV, unplugged it ... only get it working on wifi!
Kind of upsetting as this is the only reason I have an Apple TV!!

Mine isn't working after the Sep 26 update and mine is wireless. This is depressing. They should work these things out before sending updates. Since I'm wireless, any other suggestions. It sounds like it wants me to share iTunes and enable that thru my computer. That's the only message I've gotten. I don't even shop and buy itunes.
For info on this one... I have two Apple TVs and the one that hasn't been updated works fine via ethernet with the MLB App... the new upadted one still does not want to work via ethernet (wireless only)

When connected over Ethernet, are you able to use any features of the Apple TV that require Internet access? Trailers, iTunes Store Movies, Podcasts, etc?
If not, are you able to use local network services (Home Sharing and AirPlay)?

Me too, same problem, Netflix works, no MLB Hulu or wsj live. I also can't get my photo stream pics to come up.
Everything is working using wifi but I went through a lot to have a hardware to my Apple TV and I really would like to use it!! I don't want to try and stream 1080p movies through wifi I already know that doesn't work well that's why I had a Ethernet cable installed to my Apple TV. Any help would be great!!
