iPhone Stuck at Apple Logo!!!!

Hello i have a predicament here. I recently was given an iPhone 3G. I was having some problems so I backed up and restored to iOS 4.2.1 using iTunes 10.7.

I was syncing all my apps and music and stuff and something went wrong, the iphone went to the apple logo. So i waited, it didn't boot even after 30 min. I checked iTunes and iTunes nor my PC would recognize my phone. I tried a soft and hard reset, which resulted in the same. Please help I gladly appreciate it.

Try forcing it into recovery mode and restore it (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808). It you pc still won't recognize it follow the troubleshooting steps in #5 at the bottom of this article:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 under "If device not recognized in Recovery Mode".

Here is the troubleshooting for error -1 (from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1):

Error 1 or -1

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
