I have a VW Jetta and Bluetooth music control plays but I can't skip songs. Before new update, this feature worked.

New iPhone update has bugs or features that interfere with Bluetooth. I have a 2012 Jetta & before update, I could control songs played via phone through my car's remote. This feature no longer works. I can only control volume but can't skip songs. Any one knows what I can do to alleviate this? I've unpaired & rebooted phone but still does not work.
