charging problems

I am having issues with my macbook air. I left it on charge for 12 hours and now it has Also went back to 1% and is starting again. Im having problems also with my keyboard light. It switches on and off every so often and it is annoying.

I have spent loads of money on this hoping Apple can prove they are better than windows. Im starting to have second thoughts. Please help
