Can't delete purchased film from Apple TV Wish List

I have this problem too but wanted to add a little more info. If you purchase the film ON the Apple TV it gets removed from your wish list automatically. This only happens if you purchase on another device, or if you purchased the film prior to the latest upgrade.

I used to purchase films but leave them in my wish list, that way I could view everything I purchased along with other things I may want to watch all in one place. Can't do that any more 😟

What really Apple needs to do is make our Wish List at the account level, and not just limited to the Apple TV device, as there as been countless times I want to review my wishlist from something other than my Apple TV. This was just short sightedness on their part, and has thus led to this bug that also was short-sighted in thinking.

I had the exact same problem as you. I had a movie on my AppleTV wishlist, then I bought the movie from within iTunes, and then I could no longer remove the movie from my AppleTV wishlist. I found your post while trying to solve the problem. Then I had an idea.. and it worked. To remove the purchased movie from my AppleTV wish list I had to:

1. Go to iTunes on my computer, go to the iTunes Store, then click Purchased under the quick links on the side.
2. Once you're in your purchased items, go to your movies, and click the X that appears in the top right when you hover over a movie. -- this will hide the movie from iTunes and your AppleTV
3. Now, go back to the AppleTV, go to your wishlist and pick the movie - the Remove from Wishlist option is back!
4. After you remove the movie from the wishlist, go back to iTunes on your computer, and click your account name in the top right, scroll down to iTunes in the Cloud and click the link for View Hidden Purchases
5. Once inside the view hidden purchases, go to your Movies, and then unhide the movie
6. Now if you go back to the AppleTV the movie is back in your purchased movie collection and it has been removed from the AppleTV wish list.

I know it is a lot of steps, but it's the only way I could find to get it out my wishlist, it was kind of annoying..

It was such a small thing, didn't effect how the device worked, but it was so aggravating to see those movies in the wish list when I had alread bought them.

Thanks for posting the workaround. I am having the same issue in v. 5.2. I sent a bug report to Apple.

Things do not get removed from my wishlist when I purchase them on the apple TV

I've tries your step by step method described above ... they disappear for a moment and reappear the moment I exit and return to the wishlist

any ideas?

Hello, there is a very easy fix.

1. log out itunes account from apple tv.

2. go to wish list, select movie, "remove" option is now available.

3. smile, be happy

This only works if you do it the first time (without restarting);

somehow the wishlist wasn't removed when I logged-out, so

I was able to remove them.

But if you restart apple tv this no longer works.

If the wishlist is not there after you log-out,

log-in, go to wish list play a movie you purchased

for a couple seconds, log-out, then wish list should

be available again... (also works even if you restart apple tv).
