How do I convert apple works 6 docs to open in 10.7

I have a MacBook pro running 10.7. I have many docs created in AW 6 that will no longer open. I tried opening the WP with Pages and the spread sheets with Numbers, but I get a message that "This document was created with an unsupported version of Apple works." I can't open any of the drawing docs at all. What should I do short of firing up my old Mac Mini and saving them all as .doc or .xls versions.

Thanks, Ed

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), Intel i7 chip 1 GB RAM

Read this user tip, the documents must be converted in 10.6.8 or earlier, except for Appleworks 6.2.9 word processing and spreadsheet documents.

If you don't have a Mac with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier possible, you can install Parallels and Mac OS X 10.6 Server on many Macs that don't support Snow Leopard client. There are numerous entries for that in the forum. If that is too cost prohibitive, see my used or refurbished Mac page*

Or consider having a http://www.apple.com/usergroups/ member with an older Mac help you.
