Be forewarned!
Update 10.7.5 causes Canon EOS Utility to crash when camera is turned on. Attempted reinstalls of all programs to no avail.
Spoke to Canon, spoke to Apple, no help!
Anyone else??
(Also affects time machine backups as noted elsewhere!)

I had same issue so I contacted my Canon Pro Rep and as a result Canon have posted a software update EOS Utility 2.12.0 that solved my issue go here

I couldn't download any raw files using version 2.12.3 which is the latest version (and only one I could find on the Canon site for Mac OS 10.7.5)
I was full of hope, but alas 2.12.0 doesn't seem to work for me either 😟
I think I'll be buying a card reader to get round this.
