Q: Importing into iMovie canon camera
How come my MacBook doesn't recognize when I plug in my canon eos 60d camera? I'm trying to import the footage into iMovie but it's not recognizing that it's plugged in

Your camera is not listed on the "Supported Cameras" list, but the Canon 5D is supported so odds are high that yours will work.
Follow the instructions here for DSLR cameras. You can simplify things by putting your SDHC card into a USB card reader rather than attaching the camera. (Some Macs have card readers built in.)

You should shoot in 30P, 25P, or 24P for best results.
If you need super high quality slow motion, you can shoot in 50P or 60P, but iMovie does not natively support these. See this blog post for how one person hacked iMovie to be able to edit 50p/60P. Note: This blog post assumes a camcorder which shoots in the AVCHD format. I am not sure if it would be translatable to a DSLR shooting h.264. The key thing to remember is that even if you import 50p or 60P, the final movie will be 25P or 30P (or 24P).
