Macbook pro shutting down.

Hello. My laptop keeps randomly shutting down out of nowhere and I have to click the power button to turn it on and when I log back on, some of my items on my dock has a question mark on it. I don't know if I should go to an Apple store and have it checked out. & if so, how much would it cost? Thanks.
