ipad2 keeps disconnecting from wifi connection after iO6 update

my ipad2's wifi connection works perfectly and i never experienced being disconnected from my wifi connection until the iO6 update!

i have tried all the solutions posted in this forum, from resetting my ipad, my network settings, turn on/off, to resetting my router, to reconfiguring my router's security settings, to hard resetting my ipad2, to name it all, i did all of that.

...still, whenever i try to connect to my wifi connection, it disconnects after a few seconds only!

APPLE, please... release the fix. i am really regretting updating to iO6.

i never should have assumed that all your products are perfect...

Check for a firmware update for your WiFi router. Go to the router manufacturer's support web page.

There have been several reports here of iOS 6 WiFi problems being corrected by router firmware updates. In some cases it is reported that the addition of a WiFi capability in iOS 6 has revealed bugs in router firmware.

im having the same problem it will stay on for a good two minutes and go off and i pay for wireless as well so when i traveled out of town it was doing the same thing. So when they say check your router at home thats crap its internal on the device and ive never ever had this problem before either and now i just have a ipad that is useless to the cause and im over it

Checking your router is not crap, it's simply common sense. IOS 6 may well be using a previously unused WiFi feature which is not properly supported by the router. In fact there have been reports of exactly this happening.

The problem that you are having may or may not be be the same as what saff15 is experiencing.

If you are experiencing problems on multiple wifi networks you may want to talk to Apple support. Your ipad may have developed a hardware problem.

i don't have any problems with my router. it's the same router i used with my ipad prior to the update and it was running smoothly like i said. i am still using the same router for my home internet connection and it's not giving me any problems in my laptop and my other mobile phone connections.

it is only after updating to iOS6 that resulted to my iPad2 not being able to connect to my wifi like it used to with OS 5.

it's really disappointing. and it's even more disappointing that Apple has yet to acknowledge these problems / issues with the new iOS6. the number of posts related to this same problem should give them an idea that it is a problem that needs a fix from their side.

Just because your router has worked in the past and is working with other network traffic does NOT mean that it is perfect. As I said above, "IOS 6 may well be using a previously unused WiFi feature which is not properly supported by the router. In this case only now and only on the iPad will you have problems. As strange as it may sound there have been reports of exactly this happening and of router firmware fixes being released for iOS 6".

Unfortunately the vagaries of networking technology can often break usually sound logic.

well, i'm just not expecting iOS6 to be this troublesome with my current router when everything was running smoothly with OS5. i was all-smiles when i was updating my iPad only to realize some technical issues like this will surface after the update. had i known about all these that you're now telling me, i would never have updated to iOS6.

😟

You appear not to be the only one! ;-)

One thing that you could try is to test your ipad with iOS 6 on some other networks, e.g., friends, Starbucks, etc. if it has problems there that might indicate an iOS 6 problem or even a coincidental ipad hardware problem. If it works OK then that points to some sort of problem unique to your local network.

Good luck.

right and im just saying its crap because thats the only solution your saying to check and clearly everybody is saying that have good routers and what about the routers outside your house when u want to go wirless and its doing the same thing u cant blame it on the routers than so that doesnt make sense every where u go everybodys gonna have to have a new router what sense does that make. It was better when the upgrade wasnt available cause u could connect where ever u wanted thats all im saying and not its not working period 😟
