Question

My iPad won't charge, reboots all the time and is stuck at 1% battery.

Since last evening, my Ipad hasn't been charging at all. When connected to a wall charger it recognizes that the charger is connected but normally there is a lightning icon that keeps blinking when the Ipad is charging correctly, that is not the case right now. The battery has been showing 1% since morning but its on and there is no low battery alert. Also yesterday the iPad kept rebooting every two minutes, today it has happened only a couple of times since morning. I have tried restore, hard reset, updating the software to iOS6, everything and still no luck.

Has anyone else faced this issue? What could be causing this?

Doesn't Apple themselves answer these posts?

A colleague of me has the same problem. Another colleague had the same problem; another IT person finally could fix it (DFU, don't know how he did it, he's a poor explainer), I myself couldn't get DFU to work (it rebooted before I could even restart the iPad4).

Your device only restart when is plugged on the wall or it's always restarting?

Have you try to reset your ios not to update (placing your device as if it was damager in order to being reset by itunes?

Yes, we all seem to have the same problem but nobody has offered a solution. I've tried two different chargers, but it wont charge. It seems to recognize that it is plugged into a charger and shows the lightning bolt but it's constant not flashing. If I unplug the charger then a plug appears next to the lightning bolt.

It seem that the connector inside the iPad might be broken...or it's some kinda software iOS thing as somone mentioned earlier...but I dont know how to get the iOS to reset when I cant see the screen.

Any thoughts

Take it to an Apple Store, if there is a hardware problem with the battery, it will be replaced for free since it's only 4 months old, and thus in warranty.

Mine is 9 months old. This same think happend a few weeks back and suddenly it started working again. Seem to happend when the battery ran down.

i had the same problem. the battery charging problem was solved by going to General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings.

The only thing is that all your data would be lost. However, I am still facing problem of rebooting whilst my problem of charging has been solved.

Try it out may be it helps.

I've faced the same problem but any solution won't work 😟

mine stuck at 2%, has the lightning bolt indicator and says "CHARGED" when i plug it/charge it.

also, it reboots itself every minute.

is this problem fixable? has anyone had this fixed?

i have a ton of important stuff, pictures and notes on it. the iPad doesn't stay on long enough to even swipe & unlock. the swipe screen comes on each time it reboots, and before i could swipe.. poof! restart!

in India, the apple service is real poor, for half the probs, they say they can't fix it, they'll have to replace the whole thing. i hope this isn't one of them.
