Why is photostream greyed out in icloud control panel windows 7?

What worked for me and others was to uninstall icloud, restart the pc and reinstall icloud.

Uninstalled icloud, reinstalled via the apple updater - still the same problem.

Then

uninstalled icloud, restarted PC, reinstalled icloud from website download (not updater) - still the same problem. This is driving me NUTS!!

I recently got this problem too.

What i did was uninstall the icloud control panel and itunes, did a system restore to the day before the problem started happening for me, then reinstalled itunes and icloud and then it worked.

I found a simple fix in Windows 7 - 64 bit. Go to control panel, programs, iCloud, change, repair. That did the trick.

I'm using windows 7 - 32bit and encontered the same problem. But the installer repair just does not work. Any Solution Else?

I am beyond sick of this problem!!! Spent nearly a whole day last week uninstalling, reinstalling, settings, more settings, closing down, opening up yadiyadiya..........Thought Id sorted it - well for one day!! And here we go again!!!! As soon as I find an alternative method of posting photos I will discard icloud completely. Apple help is no help. I dont want to read any more notes, fixes, information which isnt effective or which Ive already tried. Its clearly a total sytem failure and I for one am sick of it!!!

But should we have to do this on an almost weekly basis????? Why, once its all up and working, does it suddenly revert to being greyed out again!! Drives me totally6 nuts and noone from Apple comes on here to sort it.......Why should we all become IT techs?

iCloud for PC v 4.0 Win7 64 Bit

On my PC there is nothing greyed out it just doesn't work. On a Win7 32Bit PC I used with the same Account it works just fine.

I really hope there will be a fix soon.

This works for me:

1) From the task manager stop all of the apple services.

2) Find the icloud.exe icon, right click on that icon, right click again on the icon if a pop up menu opens, and select run as administrator.
