Remote Login will not work

When I enable Remote Login and try to connect from an outside computer via the terminal I get a password prompt but when I enter the correct password it just keeps asking me for my password and then ends the connection after 3 tries. When I go to the computer I am trying to connect to and do the same I get in after one shot with the correct password. What is happening here?
