Getting Iphone 5 to sync with IMac.

For a computer that was to be something very easy to use. This have become a joke.

I have owned every Iphone to date. The latest Iphone 5 only works with Itunes 7 which does not work with my operating system 10.5.8

Could someone please give me easy to follow instructions to get this resolved.
