You asking about your itunes account password? If so is there not an option to recover forgotten passwords from the itunes sign in page?

If you set a new passcode to unlock the sleep mode of the new phone and you forgot that you might be able to restore the phone to factory conditions in itunes without ever signing onto your phone.
